Community Energy England published its State of the Sector Report 2019 on Saturday 22 June. It showed that 2018 was the toughest year yet for the community energy sector, with new generation capacity falling steeply in comparison to previous years. Communities are showing resilience, however, and are seeking to take advantage of new opportunities emerging from the energy system transition to a focus on local networks.
