On Tuesday 16 July, Prime Minister Theresa May hosted the Industrial, Infrastructure and Manufacturing Business Council at Downing Street, co-chaired by Chairman of BAE Systems Sir Roger Carr and Chairman of Rolls Royce Sir Ian Davis. The event explored key issues impacting the UK business environment, such as green mobility, where May welcomed proposals for a transition council and the plans to scope future opportunities for alternative fuels, such as hydrogen, and stated that the council should continue its work with BEIS officials to push the work forward. Additionally, May discussed economic opportunities for the UK in progressing carbon capture storage, alongside the UK’s automotive sector’s transition to ultra-low emissions.
