As part of the company’s shift away from fossil fuels, ScottishPower is considering investing in solar power for the first time The Guardian reported on Friday 19 October.

Chief Executive Keith Anderson told the newspaper: “You look at where the technology cost is getting to, and the possibilities of integrating it with wind […] how it balances from season to season wind and solar output, and we see a good opportunity there for further investment.”

The comments come after ScottishPower sold its last gas-fired power stations to Drax Group last week to focus on renewables.
