Lord Duncan of Springbank has been appointed as Minister for Climate Change. His responsibilities include Lords lead on all BEIS issues, international climate change (including the International Climate Fund), climate science and innovation, clean heat, smart meters and smart systems. He tweeted on Thursday 15 August that there were “serious challenges ahead, not least delivering net zero carbon emissions by 2050”. Duncan also said he was looking forward to working with COP26 President Claire Perry to secure the conference for Glasgow.
