Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council have announced that their not-for-profit energy company Fosse Energy will now be offering 100% renewable energy tariffs to those living in Leicestershire. In the Thursday 1 November announcement, Deputy City Mayor Councillor Adam Clarke said that, as well as all four tariffs offered being 100% green, the tariffs “will always be among the cheapest on the market and will offer a very competitive alternative to the big six energy companies”. He said that around 10% of households experience fuel poverty and that these tariffs are designed to combat this. It was also announced that Nottingham City Council-owned energy supplier Robin Hood Energy has been appointed as Fosse Energy’s gas and electricity supply partner.
