The Environmental Audit Committee held a one-off session on Tuesday 23 July on climate change and biodiversity, with a focus on the UK’s net zero strategy and government priorities. Chair Mary Creagh asked Committee on Climate Change Chairman (CCC) Lord Deben what the government should do to embed net zero in policy. Deben added that it was key that every department adopted policies as departments are currently unclear of their own responsibilities. He said next CCC report will address this. Deben also stressed the need for government to eradicate institutional hurdles.
