Recent figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed that battery electric vehicles (BEVs) registrations rose 158.1%, gaining the highest monthly market share on record. Published on Monday 5 August, the data also showed that registrations of hybrid electric vehicles rose by 34.2%, with 7,758 joining UK roads. However, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles continued their recent decline, falling 49.6%
