The latest Energy Efficiency Verification Specialists (EEVS) UK Energy Efficiency Trends report was released on Monday 10 September. It found that commissions of energy efficiency projects by non-domestic consumers for Q2 2018 was at its highest level since Q4 2016, visible in Figure 1 (right).

The report found that more than 70% of consumers commissioned energy efficiency projects during Q2 2018. EEVS said: “Although this doesn’t reach the peaks of 2015, the result this quarter is a positive shift following five consecutive quarters of below-average consumer investment.” The report also showed a shift in technologies being invested in with Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) commissioned by more than 60% of consumers as lighting efficiency commissions – still the top technology – dropped below 70% for the first time since 2016.
