A consortium of infrastructure investment firms has agreed a deal to acquired 100% of energy-from-waste company Cory Riverside Energy, it was announced on Wednesday 6 June. The company runs a plant by the Thames that turns approximately 750,000t/ year of London’s non-recyclable waste into around 528GWh of “carbon efficient” electricity. According to The Telegraph, the deal is understood to be worth £1.5bn. Chief Investment Officer of Dalmore Capital – one of the firms in the consortium – Alistair Ray said: “Cory Riverside Energy represents a unique opportunity to invest in a critical part of London’s waste infrastructure and we are very pleased with the outcome of the transaction.”
