Plans to install up to 1,500 vehicle to grid (V2G) chargers in the UK have been announced by EDF Energy, in partnership with green technology company Nuvve.

V2G chargers allow a two-way flow of electricity between electric vehicle (EV) and charger. Business customers will be able to sell any unutilised charge from EVs back to the supplier to generate revenues, EDF said in the 30 October announcement.

Beatrice Bigois, Managing Director of Customers at EDF Energy, said: “We are investing in smart technologies that will help our business customers electrify their fleets in a cost-effective way and support the UK’s ambition for clean growth.”
