Energy management solutions company Vital Energi has announced that Battersea power station in London is to begin supplying power again 35 years after being taken out of service. Announced on Friday 4 January, the power station is to supply power for the Energy Centre project which has now been handed over to Vital Energi to complete its development in 2020. The Energy Centre’s three combined heat and power gas fired engines (two 2MWe and one 3.3MWe), three 10MWth gas fired boilers, seven 60m³ thermal stores and six 4MWe chillers will supply heating, cooling and electricity to the 42-acre regeneration site, with the potential to supply energy to residents and businesses across the wider Nine Elms regeneration area.
