The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has acquired the under-construction 30MW Solwaybank onshore windfarm in south-west Scotland. Announced on Monday 18 June, the project is supported by a Contract for Difference (CfD) and is expected to come online in Q1 2020. Total investment in the windfarm is expected to be £82mn, £39mn of which was invested at acquisition. Director of Infrastructure at financial consultancy InfraRed Capital Partners Richard Crawford said: “Solwaybank is an important addition for the TRIG portfolio, being its first CfD windfarm in the UK. The windfarm is being constructed by RES who have an impressive track record in developing and building renewable energy assets.”
