The Scottish government has granted planning consent for SSE’s proposed Strathy South Wind Farm in the Highlands. Announced on Friday 27 April, the 133MW capacity project will consist of 39 turbines on former commercial forestry land. The decision was taken following a public consultation in 2015, which concluded with a recommendation to approve the project. SSE’s Director of Development, Mike Seaton: “Changes to UK energy policy in relation to onshore wind mean that we must now carefully consider our options for the site.”
