The UK-based waste-to-hydrogen technology company, Waste2Tricity (W2T), has procured a grant of £1.25mn from the PowerHouse Energy Group, for the development of a hydrogen production plant at Protos, near Ellesmere Port, in Cheshire. The firm said on Monday 6 January its development partner, W2T, secured the grant following a successful application to the £4.1mn Energy Fund competition. The grant will be used to fund the thermal conversion chamber, a core element of the DMG hydrogen from plastic waste plant, and will be subject to the DMG development at Protos achieving planning approval and funding by the end of March.
