A new project to be delivered when we secure funding over a 12 month cycle that will provide opportunities for young people aged between 15 and 24 to contribute to creating better life chances for themselves by their involvement in a collaborative project delivery plan that sets out weekly and monthly targets with clear monitoring mechanisms.
The program’s overall objectives are to:
- Develop mentoring relationships between young people and professionals that focus on facilitating effective career awareness, choices and skill development in their fields of interest;
- Encourage career development in areas underrepresented by persons of black and ethnic minority backgrounds; and
- Provide beneficiaries with job ready skills so as to enhance their employability.
Mentors will be recruited from amongst experienced professionals from a variety of sectors and professions who are at various stages of their career, including entrepreneurs.
The project will provide a common meeting place for mentees and mentors to meet once monthly to share their experiences and provide feedback. The project will end with a public celebratory event wherein participants will receive certificates of participation, individual awards and gift tokens for outstanding contributions during the project’s delivery.
