On Monday 2 December, Centrica and Citygate announced an electric vehicle (EV) technology partnership,
which will enable Centrica to install the latest charging technology at 10 Citygate dealerships across
London and the south-east and provide aftersales support on EV accessories and charging products,
including home charging installations. The duo will also look to develop an EV Centre of Excellence, which
will see Centrica install an on-site virtual power plant (VPP), linking EV chargers and other large energyconsuming
assets into a cloud platform, so they are able to be turned down or turned off when demand for
electricity is high, reducing the need for baseload power stations and helping to decarbonise the grid.
