Bristol City Leap has launched a global search to deliver up to £1bn of investment to establish a joint venture with another organisation or group of organisations to support its ambitions to become the UK’s first carbon neutral city by 2030. Published on Monday 9 September, Bristol City Council and Bristol Energy will lead the procurement process in “a world first,” which will “lead the way on carbon reduction, while at the same time address important social and economic challenges.” “From community heat networks, to energy innovation and social housing, the substantial investment from the partnership will enable everyone in Bristol to benefit from low carbon, renewable energy projects,” commented Managing Director of Bristol Energy Marek Majewicz.
